The fourth edition of Olamide’s show was staged on the Mainland. This time Olamide choose Teslim Balogun Stadium as the suitable location with massive supports from the State government. The initial ones has been holding on the Island (Eko Hotel).
Good sounds, digital screens, excess security at alert. I would love to commend governor Ambode as the principal sponsor of the concert. Other sponsors has done too too well to ensure the event was successful.
But, but the problem noticed started from how the deejays treated our legends and other upcoming stars. So many artists were cut off before their first verse end. Why would you give them the privilege to climb the stage when you know they don’t have nice song?. Baba Fry-O’s was stopped without any notification, that was so embarrassing that it touches me. Sound Sultan wanted to make corrections to when he bring them (Marvelous Benjy, Daddy Showkey, Baba Fry-O) out on to perform their collaboration but the crazy deejays left them on stage wandering. The legends were reluctant to leave the stage.
The likes of SlimCase, Reminisce, Terry G, Olu Maintain, Tiwa Savage, Small Doctor, Lil Kesh, Skaly Mental, Razor (female raper) among others are the fun bearer at the event. These stars ensured the audience didn’t regret paying for coming.
Everyone are waiting on Olamide himself to come on stage. Rather than having Olamide first, it was DJ Enimoney and Dotun that surfaced and they stole the welcome noises from the anticipating fans. Though Olamide still get his shine when he came on stage but his performance was very low beyond expectations. He’s too dry, he couldn’t drive the audience. He was performing as if he was called impromptu. The mixing and selections from his official deejay couldn’t hit people has they wished.
Olic4 wasn’t bad in overall but I think it was a forced show as Olamide want to have an open concert. It will be more successful if he decides to go open at olic5 because he must have noticed his lapses and find corrections to it.
